Reimagining Northside & Generation Southside

Bendigo Community Bank and the City of Port Phillip

the CHALLENGE

We co-designed and delivered two young person engagement programs, Reimagining Northside and Generation Southside – designed to build young people’s enterprise skills and encourage them to lead social change. Over six months, 18-25 year olds across Melbourne’s inner suburbs engaged in these programs and gained the confidence and skills to deliver projects that would make a positive impact in their communities.

What we did

Facilitated by our Associates, we co-designed and delivered both programs based on the experiences of young people living, working and playing in Melbourne’s inner suburbs. Each program consisted of a two-day bootcamp, an eight-week intensive development program, and a 'Pitch Your Community Idea' event. Focusing on supporting young people in place-based project delivery through to the development of their capabilities in social entrepreneurship, facilitation, co-design, cultural intelligence, and digital engagement.

THE IMPACT

Engagement of young people in the project’s target suburbs increased during and following the conclusion of each program, with immeasurable benefits for core participants and their communities.

The team

We brought together a team of Associates and a Director, who came together to design with a background of diverse lived experience and expertise.
